Keenan Vanderkooi
About
I grew up in Bowmanville, Ontario as a junior at Bowmanville GC and later Newcastle GC. After infrequent play for several years, I was brought back to the game when I worked the summer seasons in 2017 & 2018 as a Back Shop Attendant at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. I fell in love with the industry, and after graduating with a degree in Kinesiology & Sport Management from Western University in 2019, I gained experience working a season at Kananaskis Country Golf Course, and later the winter at Bonville Resort in New South Wales, Australia.
Returning home for the 2020 season, I joined the PGA of Canada and enjoyed close to four years as the Assistant Professional at Silvertip Resort in Canmore, AB under the leadership of Chris Cooke. In 2023 I moved to Vancouver Island to join the team at Victoria Golf Club as an Associate Professional. I continue to enjoy my time working at a special facility, and living in Victoria with my girlfriend Shaelene and our Golden Retriever Kaia.
